Antiferromagnetism and Superconductivity in a Model with Extended Pairing Interactions
نویسنده
چکیده
The competition between antiferromagnetism and the d+ id superconducting state is studied in a model with near and next near neighbour interactions in the absence of any on-site repulsion. A mean field study shows that it is possible to have simultaneous occurrence of an antiferromagnetic and a singlet d + id superconducting state in this model. In addition, such a coexistence generates a triplet d+ id superconducting order parameter with centre of mass momentum Q = (π, π) dynamically having the same orbital symmetry as the singlet superconductor. Inclusion of next nearest neighbour hopping in the band stabilises the dxy superconducting state away from half filling, the topology of the phase diagram, though, remains similar to the near neighbour model. In view of the very recent observation of a broad region of coexistence of antiferrmagnetic and unconventional superconducting states in organic superconductors, the possibility of observation of the triplet state has been outlined. The self-energy-functional approach is a powerful many-body tool to investigate different broken symmetry phases of strongly correlated electron systems. We use the variational cluster perturbation theory (also called the variational cluster approximation) to investigate the interplay between the antiferromagnetism and d-wave superconductivity of κ-(ET)2 X conductors. These compounds are desc...
متن کاملInhomogeneous D-Wave Superconductivity and Antiferromagnetism in a Two-Dimensional Extended Hubbard Model with Nearest-Neighbor Attractive Interaction
To understand the interplay of d-wave superconductivity and antiferromagnetism, we consider a two-dimensional extended Hubbard model with nearest neighbor attractive interaction. The Hamiltonian is solved in the mean-field approximation on a finite lattice. In the impurity-free case, the minimum energy solutions show phase separation as predicted previously based on free energy argument. The ph...

Wegeneralize the theory of Cooper-pairing by spin excitations in themetallic antiferromagnetic state to include situationswith electron and/or hole pockets. We show that Cooper-pairing arises from transverse spinwaves and fromgapped longitudinal spinfluctuations of comparable strength. However, each of these interactions, projected on a particular symmetry of the superconducting gap, acts primar...

We review the current understanding of superconductivity in the quasi-onedimensional organic conductors of the Bechgaard and Fabre salt families. We discuss the interplay between superconductivity, antiferromagnetism, and charge-density-wave fluctuations. The connection to recent experimental observations supporting unconventional pairing and the possibility of a tripletspin order parameter for...

We discuss the temperature-concentration (T-x) phase diagram of La2-x(SrlBa)xCuO4. The magnetic interactions of the hole spins with the Cu spins yield frustration, explaining the fast decrease in the NEel temperature and yielding a new spin glass phase. The same interactions yield a strong attractive hole-hole potential, which can lead to pairing and superconductivity. 1. INTRODUCTION Both La2....
